Ah. I see. [ Before she could completely retracted her extended hand, it was lightly shook within his hands. The meowth listened to the Unfezant’s speech regarding the given stars and how he came to own the fine restaurant. Although, her eyes glazed over the decor of the restricted environment. ] Well, I am astonished you managed to keep such a fine place in such great condition. You truly do deserve five stars. [ She offered a cat - like smile. ] Oh, I was just a bit interested and wanted to investigate a little.
My father mentioned quite a few times how he used to come here often a while back, usually with his colleagues or with my mother. He was a big fan of the food here and he came whenever he could. He said he was friends with the owner, Eddie … I believe was his name was? Or … Edmund? Something starting with Ed. I’m not all that good with remembering names … [ After a few seconds of trying to recall the name of the past owner, she brushed it off. Instantly changing the subject. ] But he said the food was exquisite. But he was a little curious when he heard that Cacao was under new management. Seeing as how he speaks so fondly of this place, I wanted to see it for myself. [ Oh how she wondered if her Papa would love this place even though a new, fresher face replaced the elder manager. She knew she enjoyed it. How her father described it made it seem rather dull. But then again, her father was fairly dull as well. ]
It truly means a lot to hear it coming from such a valued patron. — *He shut himself up when he heard the rest of her story with intrigue. When she paused to think of the old owner’s name, he gently cut in without seeming too rude, and only when she paused:* Edgar. *Then shut up again and listened to her.*
My, I had heard of such a legend from the previous owner but never did I expect to meet the new generation in my restaurant. I do hope your father gives this restaurant another chance. We all knew and loved Edgar dearly back when I used to be head chef. It was such a shame he had to depart but I did not want to let the legacy of this restaurant depart with him. It’d been hard filling his shoes but I can only hope one day I am regarded fondly as Edgar was. *He contained a sniffle, his eyes only going a little watery and he hoped she didn’t think he was crying over the old guy, its not like he died or anything.* Ah, please pardon me. *He turned away to swallow a few of his allergy medication he had gotten from his drawer. Too bad he didn’t have any nasonex not like he’d do one of those numbers in front of her* Well it’s a pleasure to meet you, regardless.
Ah. I see. [ Allergies? Hm. Curious. Was he allergic to her, perhaps ? Or perhaps it was her expensive perfume. ] What kind of allergies do you have ? Is it my perfume ? Or dust ? Seems awfully clean and dust free. But maybe … ?
Virgil Selavy. It’s a pleasure to meet you. [ Rather ecstatic to be introduce herself, her lips curved into a rather boastful smile. ] Marie Connor. Daughter of the esteemed president of Connor Industries. Leading Appliance Industry since 1932. At your service. [ She offered a dainty, but limped hand to the Unfezant. Expecting him to ‘respectfully’ place a kiss upon the back of her hand upon her introduction. But alas, his uncomfortable expression caused her to falter. Slowly retracting her hand and dampening her smile. ] Anyways … [ Resurrecting her smile once more, her slitted pupils panned across the walls of the employee restricted area. ] … how many stars does this restaurant have? Four … Five ?
It’s not too important, madame. *He smiled, trying to assure her it was ay ok. His office was dust free. He was a bit of a drill sergeant when it came to making sure the restaurant was clean and all the food was fresh.* Thank you for your concern. *Even if she wasn’t actually concerned, he’d treat her with high respect*
The pleasure is mine, Ms. Connor. It certainly is an honor. *Even if he had his allergies he couldn’t be rude. But attempting to place a kiss on her hand might prove difficult when you can’t hold back a sneeze any longer. So instead he gave her hand a subtle shake with both of his hands. Where was his allergy medication.* The restaurant’s previous owner had it at four stars but when he pursued a better opportunity in another region of the world he left the rest to me. *And because of his obsessive nature* I’m very close to bringing this restaurant to five stars. *The entire restaurant should look pristine and had a style mixed with modern and Victorian. His food was pricey and high end but he only hired the best chefs and trained them for years to perfect the dishes they served. It was stressful but such was the life he chose* May I ask what brought you here?
[ Marie’s ears twitched at the sneezing fowl, flinching. Was he ill ? If so, a sick bird was not one she wanted to feast on. The last bird she feasted on that sneezed in such a manner struck her with bird flu. Worst two weeks of her life. ]
Oh, it’s nothing. You don’t need to worry about it. [ She casually shakes her head. ] But I’m rather impressed by your establishment. Very delicious cuisine. More delicious than what my personal chefs prepare for me. [ She nods. ]
Ah, pardon me. My allergies have escalated for some reason. *Why was it he was only allergic to one thing and a seemingly high valued customer happened to be that one thing.*
I’m elated you think so. My name is Virgil Selavy, I own this establishment and I’ll be sure to send your regards to the chefs. *He held in a sneeze, trying his best to mask his discomfort and struggle* And may I ask what your name is, madame?
The Unfezant covered his mouth with the handkerchief wary of seeming rude but figured it was even more rude to sneeze without covering one’s mouth. He sat back in his seat and raised an eyebrow.
"I’m not sure what you mean by that statement." He’s not even sure how she got in. Was Martha letting people past the employee line? His eyes started to water from the allergies taking over.
venil said: [ -hands him over a box of tissues …for his hand to put in - ]
"Can I help you?" He honestly thought he locked that door. Ah well old age was getting to him.
